Our Youth Faith Formation program offers preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Children and youth must be enrolled in our faith formation program in order to participate in sacramental preparation programs.
Please contact Rich Rasmussen at rich.rasmussen@dor.org or 257-2493 with any questions about sacramental preparation.
You can register for faith formation for the 2021–2022 year here.
First Reconciliation
Children prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Reconciliation in the second grade. Please note that children must celebrate First Reconciliation before they can receive First Eucharist.
The preparation process for First Reconciliation is family-centered, with parents participating in classes with their children. Preparation classes are held in addition to regular faith formation classes and begin in the fall.
First Eucharist
Children prepare to receive their First Eucharist in third grade, after receiving First Reconciliation in second grade.
First Eucharist classes begin in the winter. Preparation classes are held in addition to regular faith formation classes.
Confirmation
Middle schoolers prepare for Confirmation during Middle School Youth Ministry in seventh and eighth grades. Preparation includes a retreat.
Adults who have received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, and First Eucharist but have not received Confirmation are encouraged to participate in a short preparation program that takes place in the fall.
