We offer many other opportunities for adults of all ages to enrich their faith, strengthen their prayer lives, and come together to learn in community with others. Some happen seasonally or annually; others are more occasional. See News and Events and the parish bulletin for more information about these events.
Teach Us to Pray
This annual Lenten event provides parishioners the opportunity to learn about different prayer forms and engage in different types of prayer. Workshops and experiences are offered for many different age groups and feature many different types of prayer.
Sabbath Days
Sabbath Days offer opportunities for people of all ages to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharistic Adoration and have space and time for private devotions, journaling, and other forms of prayer.
Day of Penance and Mercy
Each Lent, the Diocese of Rochester hosts a Day of Penance and Mercy, when the Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered at every parish in the diocese.
Parish Retreats
Over the past few years we have held four parish retreats, which are three-day, all-ages events to inspire, engage, and strengthen us in our faith. Our retreats have been led by wonderful guest speakers, including:
Margaret Nutting Ralph
Robert Feduccia
Steve Angrisano
Tom and Kimi Tomaszek
Parish Book Reads
In some of the past years we have provided a book to all parishioners at Christmas and encouraged the community to read it together and participate in discussion groups. Our parish reads have included:
Life of the Beloved by Henri Nouwen
Tattoos on the Heart by Fr. Gregory Boyle, S.J.
Mercy in the City by Kerry Weber
Other Programs
We have held other one-time programs here to help adults and others grow in their faith. In 2017 we welcomed ValLimar Jansen to help break open the Scripture and lead us in song and story.
