The links below provide the text of Fr. Joe's homilies during his 2010–2023 tenure as pastor of St. Catherine's. These texts are gracefully provided by Fr. Joe to be re-read and shared as the Spirit may drive you. In his homily on June 16, 2023, Fr. Joe introduced and transferred the helm to our new pastor, Fr. John, as our new shepherd. These historical Fr. Joe homilies are in no way intended to substitute for homilies presented during Masses going forward.
The Sunday Mass readings (the "Lectionary") follow a three-year cycle: Cycle A, Cycle B, Cycle C. The 2023 liturgical year, which began with Advent 2022, follows Cycle A. The years 2020, 2023, 2026, and so on are thereby all Cycle A; Cycle B is 2018, 2021, 2024, and so on; Cycle C is 2019, 2022, 2025, and so on.
The homilies are ordered chronologically and provided with a themed title for easier perusal. In this first (6/16/2023) edition, we organized Fr. Joe's homilies of the 2020 and 2023 (to date) liturgical years; both are Cycle A Lectionary years. The first edition therefore presents homilies tied to Cycle A Bible readings all the way up to the Advent season of 2023.
During the coming months, we plan to add homilies tied to years in Cycle B and Cycle C.
