APPROVED PARISH PHOTO POLICY/11-18-8

Including images of parishioners on St. Catherine of Siena's website captures the parish's welcoming spirit and encourages people to become more involved in the life of the church. At the same time, the parish realizes the importance of protecting the privacy of its members, especially those under 18. To this end, photographs on the parish website will follow the guidelines listed below.

  • Candid photos will focus primarily on general scenes and activities, not individuals.
  • People who have been candidly photographed at church-sponsored events will not be identified in captions.
  • Captions identifying individuals in candid and posed group photos will contain only the name of the group or the activity depicted.
  • Those taking pictures at an event should be readily recognizable to attendees.
  • Parishioners who object to themselves or their children being photographed may convey their wishes to the photographer, who will respect the request.
  • Staff members, heads of committees, and others serving the church in an official capacity will be identified in photo captions by first and last name. Including contact information in these cases would be appropriate.
