Ithaca Peace Festival Update from the 2017 Festival Committee
"Music can change the world because it can change people." —Bono
The planning committee for the Ithaca Peace Festival would like to thank our fellow parishioners for supporting the festival though your attendance at the event this past weekend, by volunteering at the event, and for the outstanding food that was served over the weekend. We are also grateful for your financial support via donations, participation in the raffle, and through bids on silent auction items.
Though we do not yet have a full accounting for the event, early indications are that it was our best year yet in terms of financial results. More important, we had great participation from the broader community and were happy to see the rich diversity of Ithaca on full display at the event. We are blessed in this community to have such talented and diverse musical performers who were able to enrich the festival and bring people together through their fun and inspiring performances.
The mission of the festival is to "Inspire positive action to promote peace." Saint Teresa of Calcutta said that "peace Begins with a smile," and based on the abundant smiles and interactions of the attendees and participants, it is fair to say "mission accomplished"!
Thank you again for your support of the festival!

The Ithaca Peace Festival is a family-friendly, three-day celebration of international music, food, and peace organized by St. Catherine's parishioners and held on our parish grounds. The 2017 festival will be held on September 8–10.
The festival features live local music and dance performances, international food vendors, local craft vendors, a silent auction, and children's activities. Proceeds benefit global peace organizations with Ithaca roots.
